Wilson is just 18 years old and has had a successful year on the squash courts. He represented T&T at the British Junior Open Tournament and placed fifth at the Birmingham University Open tournament.Earlier in the year, he was number one seed in the Wycliff team that was second in the national schools tournament in England.
He was 12th in the Welsh Junior Open and was voted "Most Improved Player" in the Wycliff College team.He finished second in the QPCC senior closed satellite tournament and third in the Under-19 CASA tournament in the Cayman Islands.He was named Most Valuable Player by the T&T Squash Association and ended the year in the U-19 Tournament in Finland and finished third in the South Marston Junior Open in England.
Cade Lue Sue, 17 years old, was the QPCC junior hockey "Player of the Year."With many of the club's top players missing, Queen's Park was still able to win the Under 21 Indoor tournament mainly due to the remarkable performance of Lue Sue who scored 17 goals in the tournament.The team coach was impressed and said he has a good future in the sport.Nicholas Alexis, the "Cricketer of the Year" was able to combine his sporting activity with excellent academic effort and is now at UWI, reading International Relations.
Abraham is another QPCC all-rounder.
He has risen from being a national junior champion to a regular senior player for the club.He was a member of the Harvard University squash team, was ranked No 1 at Bangor University in Wales and in addition to playing at senior level, he has become the coach of the national senior and junior teams.Somehow, he found the time and energy to complete a Masters degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology and assists in the administrative side of squash, wherever he is based.
Daren Cowie is another hockey star.He returned home from England where he had been playing and studying and had an outstanding season at the end of which he was named to the national team for the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games where T&T won a silver medal. He was captain for the Commonwealth Games in India.
Runako Morton was among the five "Cricketers of the Year" for the third successive year, scoring five centuries during the season and led the club to championship in the Sunday League.
Born in Nevis and originally a Leeward Islands and West Indies player, he got caught by a "Trini" beauty and has been loyal to the club and hopefully, soon to T&T in the Carib League.Andy Ganteaume, famous for being the only cricketer who scored a century in his first Test but would never play another and he was also a national footballer of outstanding ability.
He was never bitter to the extent that he would turn his back on sport and continued playing until he became a coach, passing his experience on to the youth of the country.Karl Hudson-Phillip was awarded the country's highest honour, the Order of T&T Gold for his outstanding contribution in the field of law.He was runner-up in the Island Scholarship in his day and continued his education at Cambridge University. He has become one of the most celebrated lawyers in the world and was featured in some of the most publicised cases in the Caribbean and in the International Criminal Court.
Derek Daniel won the Kingston Trophy, an award to the member who has given his time and effort to the progress of the club during the year.He has been a atalwart in the hockey section for many years and in 2004, launched the popular J'Ouvert Band which with just 200 members realised a profit of $140,000.He guided this project the band has become more innovative, grown tremendously and a lucrative fund-raiser.This has been used to develop young players and hockey teams and to afford entertaining touring teams.
