The West In­dies Crick­et Board has in­vit­ed Five (5) play­ers to join the Twen­ty Three con­tract­ed play­ers (for the pe­ri­od Oc­to­ber 1, 2010 to Sep­tem­ber 30, 2011) in prepa­ra­tion for the up­com­ing Dig­i­cel Home se­ries against Pak­istan and In­dia, the Trinidad Guardian has learnt.Among the five play­ers in­vit­ed for the train­ing camp in Bar­ba­dos are Kieron Pol­lard, Dwayne Bra­vo and Lendl Sim­mons from T&T, as well as Mar­lon Samuels of Ja­maica and An­tho­ny Mar­tins from the Lee­ward Is­lands.

Sim­mons, 26, makes a re­turn to the West In­dies, af­ter play­ing three Tests in 2009 and 19 one day­er, to­geth­er with eight (8) T 20's.All twen­ty eight play­ers (apart from the play­ers in­volved in the re­gion­al fi­nal) are ex­pect­ed to un­der­go some se­ri­ous fit­ness tests from the WICB of­fi­cials from Fri­day.A 14 mem­ber West In­dies team is to be se­lect­ed for the first match against the Pak­istan team on April 21, which is a T20 in­ter­na­tion­al and there is word that a spe­cial­ist T20 team may be se­lect­ed in­clud­ing some of the lead­ing names from the Caribbean T20 cham­pi­onships.
