The nephew of Man­zoor Baksh the vice-pres­i­dent of Preysal Crick­et Club was shot in the neck at Guaracara­Park dur­ing the Preysal ver­sus SIS Cen­tral Sports clash on Thurs­day night. It is al­leged that Aga Baksh was sit­ting in the West­ern Stand at Guaracara Park, when a ven­dor fell close to him and this trig­gered his gun which end­ed by de­posit­ing a bul­let in­to the neck of Baksh. Eye­wit­ness­es said he was on the ground for about half an hour be­fore a Petrotrin Am­bu­lance came and took him to San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al hos­pi­tal. They re­port­ed that the fire ser­vices who were on hand at the Park had no am­bu­lance and this caused a de­lay. Emer­gency surgery was then per­formed on Baksh to re­move the bul­let and he is now in dan­ger of be­ing par­a­lyzed be­cause the bul­let dam­aged his spinal cord.
