Joe Public falls to Caledonia in FA Cup

WASA Foot­ball Club is now the lone non-TT Pro League out­fit to re­main in the T&T Foot­ball Fed­er­a­tion (T&TFF) FA Tro­phy com­pe­ti­tion af­ter de­feat­ing OJ Sol­da­do 3-1 in the quar­ter­fi­nal match, at WASA Ground, St Joseph. A dou­ble from Fa­bi­en Gar­cia and a sin­gle ef­fort from Shane Calderon, was the dif­fer­ence be­tween the Na­tion­al Su­per League team and the South­ern Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion team, whose on­ly goal came from An­der­son Smart. In a more pre­dictable fix­ture, De­fence Force de­feat­ed last year's Su­per League bot­tom place fin­ish­ers St Fran­cois Na­tion­als 5-0. Jos­si­mar Bel­grave bagged a brace, while Je­mal Se­bro, Jevon Se­bro and Ross Rus­sell Jr got the oth­er goals for the un­der-strength "Tetron Boys". W Con­nec­tion al­so de­feat­ed the lone Sec­ondary Schools Foot­ball League rep­re­sen­ta­tive, To­ba­go's Scar­bor­ough Sec­ondary 5-0, thanks to a hat-trick and a dou­ble from Hashil Ar­cia and Jer­rod Brit­to, re­spec­tive­ly. Cale­do­nia AIA, was the oth­er team to book a spot in the last four of the com­pe­ti­tion with a 2-0 win over Su­per League cup and league cham­pi­ons bmo­bile Joe Pub­lic. De­vorn Jorsling and Ataulla Guer­ra scored one goal each in ei­ther half. The draw for the se­mi-fi­nal match­es will take place at the Pres­i­dent's Box of the Queen's Park Oval, Tragerete Road, to­mor­row from 2 pm.
