Host Par­adise made cer­tain that Paragon did not en­joy their vis­it to the sis­ter-isle To­ba­go on Sat­ur­day, by end­ing their per­fect starts to the sea­son in both the Men and Women's Cham­pi­onship Di­vi­sion of the T&T Hock­ey Board League. In the first match at the Dwight Yorke Sta­di­um Train­ing Field, Par­adise got a goal each from Nave Roach, Jarel Thomp­son and Ver­nell Rivers to up­staged Paragon 3-2 and se­cure its first points in three match­es this sea­son. For Paragon, which had a chance to join de­fend­ing cham­pi­on and ta­ble leader Petrotrin on max­i­mum 15 points, na­tion­al duo, Akim Tou­s­saint and Kiel Mur­ray got a goal each. In an­oth­er Men's Cham­pi­onship match at the Na­tion­al Hock­ey Cen­tre, Tacarigua, on Sun­day, Notre Dame whipped Malvern 3-1 with a goal apiece from Aidan De Gannes (7th), Danil Tran­coso (42nd) and Ronel Hunt (58th) for its sec­ond win in five match­es. Like Paragon men, the women's team was al­so keen to sus­tain its 100 per cent win­ning record to the sea­son. How­ev­er in the end it had to set­tle for a 0-0 draw with Par­adise which pushed its points tal­ly to 13 from five match­es sev­en more than Check­ers, Shandy Carib Mag­no­lias and Ven­tures. Mag­no­lias used items from vet­er­an duo, Stacey Siu Butt and Gayle-Ann Nieves in a 2-1 win over Check­ers on Sat­ur­day, while Emer­ald Piper's dou­ble led Ven­tures to a com­fort­able 4-0 blowout of De­fence Force on Sun­day.
