BANGALORE-West Indies lost to defending champions Pakistan in their second match of the T20 Cricket World Cup for the Blind, in Bangalore, India, on Tuesday. Although the West Indies battled hard, they were beaten by 198 runs after Pakistan posted 367 in their 20 overs.
Pakistan batsman Muhammed Ahmed smashed a world record score of 266 in 90 balls to help his side to its third straight win. Over the weekend, West Indies lost to Australia in their opening match at the Aditya Global Sports Complex, Bangalore.
The Aussies made 239 for six in their allotted 20 overs after West Indies won the toss and sent them in to bat. The West Indies in reply reached 174 all out.
Blind cricketers from nine countries around the world have gathered in this Indian city for the first ever World Twenty20 cricket tournament for the blind which began on the December 1st and runs until the 13th.
The teams involved are: Australia; Bangladesh; England; India; Nepal; Pakistan; South Africa; Sri Lanka and the West Indies. (WICB Web site)
