WI lose second match in T20 World Cup for Blind

BAN­GA­LORE-West In­dies lost to de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Pak­istan in their sec­ond match of the T20 Crick­et World Cup for the Blind, in Ban­ga­lore, In­dia, on Tues­day. Al­though the West In­dies bat­tled hard, they were beat­en by 198 runs af­ter Pak­istan post­ed 367 in their 20 overs.

Pak­istan bats­man Muhammed Ahmed smashed a world record score of 266 in 90 balls to help his side to its third straight win. Over the week­end, West In­dies lost to Aus­tralia in their open­ing match at the Aditya Glob­al Sports Com­plex, Ban­ga­lore.

The Aussies made 239 for six in their al­lot­ted 20 overs af­ter West In­dies won the toss and sent them in to bat. The West In­dies in re­ply reached 174 all out.

Blind crick­eters from nine coun­tries around the world have gath­ered in this In­di­an city for the first ever World Twen­ty20 crick­et tour­na­ment for the blind which be­gan on the De­cem­ber 1st and runs un­til the 13th.

The teams in­volved are: Aus­tralia; Bangladesh; Eng­land; In­dia; Nepal; Pak­istan; South Africa; Sri Lan­ka and the West In­dies. (WICB Web site)
