Stokely Vale dumps Rangers in FA

Stoke­ly Vale of the Na­tion­al Su­per League lived up to its tag as "Gi­ant Killers" when it dumped T&T Pro League's St Ann's Rangers out of the T&T Foot­ball Fed­er­a­tion FA Tro­phy com­pe­ti­tion at the round-of-32 hur­dle with a 3–2 tri­umph in the sec­ond match of a dou­ble-head­er at Ply­mouth Recre­ation Ground.

Keshorn Joseph scored a pair of goals for Stoke­ly Vale while Run­dell Win­ches­ter added the oth­er to can­cel out De­von Mod­este's dou­ble for Rangers, which be­came to third Pro League to be beat­en by the To­ba­go club in less than a month.

Both Po­lice (5–0) and Neal & Massy Cale­do­nia AIA, (6–5) on penal­ties fol­low­ing a 3–3 draw, were beat­en by Stoke­ly Vale in the just con­clud­ed Toy­ota Clas­sic com­pe­ti­tion.

The two oth­er Pro League clubs in ac­tion in Wednes­day's late match­es, Cen­tral FC and North East Stars, both won, but in con­trast­ing fash­ion.

In the sec­ond match at the Ato Boldon Sta­di­um, Cou­va, Cyra­no Glen net­ted a hat-trick to earn Cen­tral FC a come-from-be­hind 4–3 win over East­ern Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion's Mal­abar FC. Kaashif

Keon Goodridge, Don­a­van Der­rick and Ke­ston Jor­dan were on tar­get for Joe Pub­lic (Su­per League) to whip Mara­bel­la Fam­i­ly Cri­sis Cen­tre 1 at Mar­vin Lee Sta­di­um, Ma­coya.

In the ear­ly match­es, na­tion­al Un­der-23 strik­er Trevin Cae­sar scored a sec­ond-half hat-trick for an un­der­strength Cale­do­nia AIA to be­gin its de­fence with a re­sound­ing 8–0 maul­ing of North­ern Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion out­fit, Pe­tit Val­ley Unit­ed at Diego Mar­tin North Sec­ondary Ground, yes­ter­day.

Fel­low T&T Pro League clubs, De­fence and T&TEC FC al­so cruised in­to the next phase of the com­pe­ti­tion with 8–0 and 3–0 vic­to­ries over Queen's Park and Ed­in­burgh 500 re­spec­tive­ly

Oth­er win­ners in­clud­ed En­ter­prise Youths, Cunu­pia FC, 1st FC San­ta Rosa, Pt Fortin Civic Cen­tre and Shi­va Boys Hin­du School which stunned Na­tion­al Su­per League's Ea­gles Unit­ed, 7–6 on sud­den-death penal­ty-kicks af­ter a 3–3 draw at the David Williams Recre­ation Ground, Pe­nal.

To­day, the round-of-16 draw will take place at Har­vard Sports Club, Ser­pen­tine Road, at 2.30 pm ahead of last-16 match­es on Wednes­day be­fore the tour­na­ment takes a Christ­mas break and will re­sume on Jan­u­ary 9.
