T&T's men's Olympic javelin champion Keshorn Walcott left for a two-month training stint in Cuba yesterday. The trip is the second to the Spanish speaking Caribbean island after he first trained there in May, and qualified for the Olympics.
The 19-year-old went on to surprise many and upset the favourites to take the men's javelin title at the London Olympics in August with a national record throw of 84.58m.Joining Walcott on the Cuban trip will be Commonwealth and Pam American Games multiple medallist Cleopatra Borel, Quincy Wilson, Hezekeil Romeo and coach Ishmael Lopez-Mastrapha.
