The grade two Starlight Stakes over 1,350 me­tres takes cen­tre stage on Sat­ur­day when there will be a clash be­tween the Ja­maican bred hors­es and the lo­cal­ly bred thor­ough­breds.

Last year's der­by win­ner Free Pas­sage will be fly­ing the flag for Trinidad along with the David Ojar owned and trained Sky­line Pi­geon. Al­so set to make the lo­cal hors­es take the li­on's share of the $100,000 purse event is One­to­keep from the John O'Brien yard.

From the look of the eight-horse field, this is clear­ly a very com­pet­i­tive event and any of for horse could jus­ti­fi­ably run away with the $60,000 first prize cheque.

With no Bruceon­th­eloose, Sky­line Pi­geon must be re­spect­ed but the main threats could come from Free Pas­sage, One­to­keep and Un­ques­tion­able.

De­r­ick Mosca looks cer­tain to play a hand in the event as he has en­tered three for the race. His trio of Free Pas­sage, Slip­pery Sam and One­fortheroad could go close.
