Sport ambassadors visit camps

Olympic gold medal­list Hase­ly Craw­ford chats with the chil­dren af­ter pay­ing an im­promp­tu vis­it to one of the sports camps or­gan­ised by the Sports Com­pa­ny of T&T last week. Craw­ford was warm­ly greet­ed by the chil­dren who got a chance to see his Olympic gold medal and Trin­i­ty Cross, the coun­try's high­est ho­n­our.

Craw­ford is one of sev­er­al sport am­bas­sadors who will vis­it the camps this week to share their ex­pe­ri­ences in sport and of­fer ad­vice for those as­pir­ing to a ca­reer in the sport in­dus­try. Chil­dren can al­so ex­pect a vis­it from Anil Roberts, Min­is­ter of Sport and elite swim­ming coach who will con­duct a light train­ing ses­sion.

The camps are an ini­tia­tive of Sportt and the Min­istry of Sport and start­ed Ju­ly 15. They will end Au­gust 2. They are de­signed to en­gage chil­dren and youth ages 7 to 17 in struc­tured sport­ing ac­tiv­i­ty led by trained coach­es in 18 sport­ing dis­ci­plines.
