Marabella Family Crisis Centre will be going all out to finish as winners of the T&T Football Association Champion of Champions Tournament which serves as a qualifier to next season's National Super League when it faces Sidey's FC today.
Currently, Northern Football Association Premier Division champions, Police FC head the table with ten points from their five match schedule and are certain of one of the three promotion spots, while Marabella Family, the Southern Football Association Premier Division winners are second with seven points going into their match with the Tobago Football Association champions at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella this afternoon.
And while a draw maybe enough for Marabella to qualify, team manager Terence Boissiere says his team will be going after victory.
Buoyed by his team's 3-2 win over Eastern Football Association winners Malta Carib Alcons on Sunday, Boissiere said, "Basically we know that with a draw we maybe able to qualify, but our aim is to top the table overall."
"We feel as SFA winners we have a duty to try our best and get a win and send a positive message ahead of the next season", added Boissiere.
Today's encounter will be only the second of the tournament for Sidey's FC as it had to reschedule their first three matches due to travelling difficulties between the two islands while they went under to Police 1-0 at the Speyside Recreation Ground in their opener on Sunday.
Tomorrow, Sidey's FC will play their second of back-to-back matches in Trinidad when they travel to Matura Recreation Ground, Matura, for a 4 pm clash with third placed Matura Reunited, the Eastern Counties Football Union' champions, who are third on the six-team table with five points, the same as Central champions, Cunupia FC.
Sidey's FC will then face Malta Carib Alcons on April 20 at Speyside on Monday April 20, before closing out the tournament against Cunupia at Edinburgh 500 Recreation Ground, two days later, and both from 4 pm.
