T&T's sprint queen Kelly-Ann Baptiste had to settle for silver in a five-women field 100m field at the Adidas Boost Boston Games at the Dilboy Stadium, Somerville, Massachusetts, USA, yesterday.
Baptiste, a two-time World Championship bronze medallist and Olympic finalist crossed the line in 11.30 to trail USA's Tori Bowie, who clocked a 11.03 to take gold on the second and final day of the two-day meet, which replaced the adidas Grand Prix (the old New York Diamond League event).
Third home was Jamaican Ramona Burchell in 11.42 ahead of countrywoman Schillonie Calvert (11.48) while USA's Octavious Freeman, false started.
The time by Baptiste, who has a personal best of 10.84 set at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo in 2015, was a disappointing one and comes after she took third last weekend at the Racers Grand Prix in Kingston, Jamaica, in 11.15 seconds to trail two-time Olympic sprint champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (11.09) and USA's Barbara Pierre (11.11).
Baptiste will next compete at the NAAA's senior championships at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo next weekend.
