Fire Ser­vice, the reign­ing Pre­mier­ship Di­vi­sion cham­pi­on in the Courts All Sec­tors Net­ball League (ASNL), is among sev­en teams con­firmed to com­pete on Sat­ur­day in the ASNL one-day tour­na­ment.

The Pre-tour­na­ment net­ball event is the league's chance to wel­come back some of its mem­bers, play­ers, of­fi­cials and of course, the fans, af­ter two years of no play due to the COVID-19 pan­dem­ic.

It is set to un­fold at the East­ern Re­gion­al In­door Sports Are­na (ERISA), Or­ange Grove Road, Tacarigua, and will be­gin from 11 am.

Teams that played in 2020 were in­vit­ed to par­tic­i­pate and to date; sev­en teams have con­firmed par­tic­i­pa­tion. The oth­ers are Bermudez Unit­ed, De­fence Force, Jabloteh, MIC Tigers, Po­lice Ser­vice and the Unit Trust (UTC).

Teams are re­quired to reg­is­ter 12 play­ers and five of­fi­cials on­ly. Three (3) male play­ers can al­so be reg­is­tered but on­ly two may be on court at any time dur­ing the match. These may play in any of the sev­en po­si­tions.

"We can con­firm that play­ers are ex­cit­ed about re­turn­ing to the court at ERISA and meet­ing some of their col­leagues with whom they have not been in con­tact since the start of the pan­dem­ic," ac­cord­ing to the press re­lease.

This is all in an ef­fort to ret­intro­duce the league which is ex­pect­ed re­sume its an­nu­al pro­gramme, on Jan­u­ary 7.
