Betting company Paddy Power is willing to fork out 10,000 pounds each to charity if Australian's David Warner and Steve Smith are out caught in their ICC World Cup clash against the English at Lord's Tuesday.
On Monday, the firm placed an advertisement in the popular Evening Standard newspaper entitled 'Red Sanded', in obvious reference to the Aussie players' one-year ban for their involvement in a ball-tampering scandal against South Africa in a Test match last year.
Paddy Power has advertised that if both Warner and Smith after dismissed via catches they will fork out a total of $20,000 pounds. However, the company will donate the money to Workaid and ask them to pass on the money to a carpentry charity organisation.
Warner and Smith have been heckled and booed at times during this World Cup for their act. In the game against India, the fans ripped into Smith but were asked by Indian captain Virat Kohli to stop the heckling. Kohli said the incident was over, the men have served their ban, they had apologised and the action should now be put to rest.
England captain Eoin Morgan, however, is not going to stop the English crowd from going at the duo Tuesday. When asked if he would take a similar approach to Kohli and ask the English fans to lay off the Aussies duo on Monday, Morgan said, "No! No!"
He added: "I'm not expecting anything. I think fans and supporters up and down the country will have different reactions, as they will around the world. So yeah, let's just see."
