Reniece Boyce scored an unbeaten half-century to help T&T win its opening match in the Colonial Medical Insurance Women’s Super50 Cup at the National Stadium in Guyana, yesterday. T&T defeated Guyana Women by 69 runs in round one.
Guyana won the toss and elected to bowl first. In its 50 overs, T&T scored 221-7 with the vice-captain scoring 65 not out while her teammate Samantha Bissoon added 35 not out. Boyce was later named the "Player of the Match".
Erva Giddings and Amaze Thompson were responsible for most of T&T wickets. Giddings claimed 2-34 and Thompson, 2-46 for the host team.
In reply, Guyana was bowled out for 152 with Shemaine Campbelle leading the scoring with 45 and her teammate Shineta Grimmond was second-best with 25 but it was all in vain.

In other matches, Barbados Women defeated Leeward Islands Women by seven wickets at the Everest Cricket Ground while at the Georgetown Cricket Club, Jamaica beat the Windward Islands by 80 runs.
