The new 'Home of Foot­ball' at the Ato Boldon Sta­di­um in Bal­main, Cou­va will be the venue for Cen­tral Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion's (CFA) Ram­s­ingh Sport­world FA Cup fi­nal and third and fourth place play-offs match­es on Sep­tem­ber 14.

Com­pet­ing for the ti­tle prize and brag­ging rights will be Gi­ants FC, which got the bet­ter of cur­rent lead­ers of the League Cen­tral Soc­cer­world in the se­mi-fi­nals 5-4 on penal­ties, and Harlem Strik­ers, which got goals from Leroy Whiley and Vic­tor De Sil­va in a 2-0 tri­umph over Leeds FC in the round of four two weeks ago.

Both Leeds FC and Cen­tral Soc­cer­world will be the con­tenders for third-fourth, by virtue of los­ing in the semis.

Yes­ter­day Clynt Tay­lor, the CFA's Sec­re­tary Gen­er­al and Gre­go­ry Mc Sween, a mem­ber of his ex­ec­u­tive, said the League, con­sid­ered one of the bet­ter run Re­gion­al As­so­ci­a­tion com­pe­ti­tions in T&T, has agreed to spread its wings and open up to all po­ten­tial foot­ball teams and clubs in the cen­tral area. Tay­lor, who was a com­pet­i­tive can­di­date at the TT Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion's pres­i­den­tial elec­tions in 2015, has been lead­ing the charge in the CFA be­com­ing a mod­el for oth­er as­so­ci­a­tions. He be­lieves if young peo­ple are giv­en a prod­uct of worth, they will grav­i­tate to it, there­by en­sur­ing the CFA suc­cess­ful­ly fights the scourge of crime sweep­ing through the land.

Ac­cord­ing to Tay­lor, his as­so­ci­a­tion is hop­ing to get be­tween 5000- 10, 000 fans for the event which will be fund­ed by Nal Ram­s­ingh, a long-stand­ing spon­sor of cen­tral foot­ball. Tay­lor said apart from pro­mot­ing his League as the place to be in cen­tral foot­ball, his as­so­ci­a­tion al­so in­tends to raise funds to main­tain its youth de­vel­op­ment pro­grammes and oth­er ini­tia­tives mov­ing for­ward.

The day's ac­tiv­i­ties are ex­pect­ed to fea­ture live en­ter­tain­ment from So­ca artistes Bun­ji Gar­lin and Fay-Ann Lyons, as well as per­for­mances from Ravi B, KI, Harlem Strik­ers Tas­sa Group and more en­ter­tain­ment from DJ Ex­treme Sounds, all in an af­ter foot­ball lime, while en­try for the match will be $20 for adults and free for chil­dren un­der the age of 12 years.
