Club Sando moves 7th after 2-2 draw

Tiger Tanks Club San­do’s move to sev­enth on the 11-team T&T Pro League stand­ings was the on­ly change af­ter last Thurs­day’s resched­uled match with Po­lice FC at the Ato Boldon Sta­di­um in Cou­va, which end­ed in a 2-2 draw.

With the one point re­ceived from the re­sult, the south­ern­ers moved one point up to 16, there­by leap­ing over San Juan Jabloteh on a su­pe­ri­or goal dif­fer­ence of two to Jabloteh’s -8.

The Law­men, who were on 22 points in third, have now joined Ter­minix La Hor­quet­ta Rangers on 23 points, but have an in­fe­ri­or goal dif­fer­en­tial.

In the resched­uled en­counter at the Cou­va venue, Ke­muel Rivers fired Club San­do in­to the lead with a 29th-minute strike. His team­mate Keron Corn­wall gave them a two-goal cush­ion with his item in the 32nd minute.

How­ev­er, the Law­men got a re­vival when Joshua Leach pulled one back on the stroke of half-time (45th minute) be­fore Ju­ma Clarence lev­elled the scores some 10 min­utes from the end of the match (80th minute).

The ta­ble, how­ev­er, re­mains un­der the con­trol of lead­ers De­fence Force on 32 points from 13 match­es, with the La Hor­quet­ta men nine points be­hind them in sec­ond on 23 points from the same amount of games.

The league is set to re­sume af­ter the Car­ni­val fes­tiv­i­ties.
