Ceramic Merryboys all rounder Richard Kelly continued to address the national selectors yesterday, this time with the ball, as he captured 3/34 to send a strong signal for inclusion in the national team for the regional First Class series starting on January 15. Playing for the Jaggernauth XI, Kelly turned up in good form at the National Cricket Centre (NCC) and with Rayad Emrit's team starting the day on 19 without loss chasing a first innings total of 245, he was quickly into his element.
He grabbed three early wickets and Emrit's team never recovered, crashing to 109 all out. Only Gibran Mohammed 31 and Daron Cruicshank 22 offered any resistance. Fast bowling compatriot Shannon Gabriel also got into the act and claimed 3/45. Batting a second time with a lead of 136 runs on first innings, Jaggernauth's team closed on 181 for six. Jaggernauth himself, topscored with an unbeaten 53, while Kelly continued to show his prowess with the bat and followed his 75 on the weekend with 24.
