West Indies women all rounder Deandra Dottin was in great form in the latest round of matches in the Sydney First Grade Women's cricket series. The 19-year-old Barbadian turning out for Gordon in the top flight of women's cricket in Australia, scored 88 and then returned with the ball to grab 5/19 to take her team to a crushing 226-run victory over Universities.
Batting first at Chatwoods Oval, Gordon compiled 269 all out with Dottin hitting 88 and fellow West Indian Kirbyina Alexander scoring 23. The two added 43 runs for the sixth wicket. The Universities in reply were skittled out for just 43 runs with Dottin grabbing 5/19.
Elsewhere Trinidadian Stacey King and Jamaican Shanel Daly were both in form with the ball. King took 2/24 to help bowl out Sutherland for 140 off 37.5 overs. Daly batting for Sutherland got only 14. When Eastern Suburbs took to the crease all they could manage was 112/9 off 40 overs with Stacey King getting only eight runs. Daly was the star of the show for Sutherland taking 3/29.
