De­fend­ing cham­pi­ons East were de­nied an out­right vic­to­ry against South-West on Tues­day in Round Two of the BGTT Un­der-19 tour­na­ment, af­ter a rag­ing bush­fire caused of­fi­cial to aban­don the match at James Park in Point Fortin. With South-West in dire straits af­ter be­ing asked to fol­low-on, fire pre­vent­ed fur­ther ac­tion with more than one hour's play in the con­test re­main­ing.

Ear­li­er, East made 301 for nine de­clared and then rout­ed South-West for a mea­gre 91 on first in­nings. South-West, asked to bat again ,were reel­ing on 79 for five when play was called off.

T&T and West In­dies im­pres­sive youth bat­ting all­rounder Yan­nic Cari­ah con­tin­ued his fine form in the se­ries, with an­oth­er ad­mirable per­for­mance for North-East against To­ba­go at Shaw Park. Cari­ah notched a bril­liant 156 in his team's mas­sive first in­nings to­tal of 410 for nine de­clared. The right-arm leg-spin­ner then bagged five for 30 in To­ba­go's re­ply of 182, as the match end­ed in a tame draw.

In oth­er match­es, Cen­tral and North took first in­nings points against South-East and North re­spec­tive­ly. For Cen­tral, Ke­iron Joseph (92), Videsh Sookhai (81) and Derone Davis (3-62) con­tin­ue to be stand­outs.
