Dis­card­ed T&T open­ing bats­man William Perkins and spin bowler Kavesh Kan­tas­ingh have been in­clud­ed in the Com­bined Cam­pus­es and Col­leges (CCC) 14-man squad for the West In­dies Crick­et Board (WICB) Re­gion­al 50-Overs tour­na­ment sched­uled for Oc­to­ber 14-24 in Ja­maica. Perkins, who will be mak­ing his de­but for the CCC team, along with Kan­tas­ingh, a for­mer mem­ber, were over­looked by the T&T se­lec­tors. The 23-year-old Perkins, has played one Twen­ty/20 In­ter­na­tion­al for West In­dies against Aus­tralia in 2008, how­ev­er, he has since slipped off the radar.

Kan­tas­ingh, on the oth­er hand, who rep­re­sent­ed CCC in the re­gion­al Four-Day tour­na­ment, switched teams for the Caribbean T20 tour­na­ment. How­ev­er, de­spite be­ing called to trails, he was un­able to break in­to the T&T squad, which led to him re­turn­ing to the col­lege team. For­mer cap­tain Floyd Reifer has been re­placed by Vin­cent­ian bats­man Romel Cur­ren­cy, at the helm. The CCC team will take on two-time cham­pi­on T&T in one of two Group A match­es on Oc­to­ber 14 at Ched­win Park, Ja­maica. The group al­so in­cludes Ja­maica and the Wind­ward Is­lands.
