Discarded T&T opening batsman William Perkins and spin bowler Kavesh Kantasingh have been included in the Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) 14-man squad for the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Regional 50-Overs tournament scheduled for October 14-24 in Jamaica. Perkins, who will be making his debut for the CCC team, along with Kantasingh, a former member, were overlooked by the T&T selectors. The 23-year-old Perkins, has played one Twenty/20 International for West Indies against Australia in 2008, however, he has since slipped off the radar.
Kantasingh, on the other hand, who represented CCC in the regional Four-Day tournament, switched teams for the Caribbean T20 tournament. However, despite being called to trails, he was unable to break into the T&T squad, which led to him returning to the college team. Former captain Floyd Reifer has been replaced by Vincentian batsman Romel Currency, at the helm. The CCC team will take on two-time champion T&T in one of two Group A matches on October 14 at Chedwin Park, Jamaica. The group also includes Jamaica and the Windward Islands.
