Manager of PowerGen Cricket Club, Chaitram Ramjitsingh is calling on national selectors to pay closer attention to the cricketers at his club.PowerGen was named Club of the Year at the T&T Cricket Board (TTCB) annual prize-giving ceremony recently. They have won back to back Premiership titles in 2009 and 2010 and Ramjitsingh says he has a very talented bunch of cricketers with him. "We have some very talented cricketers down here at PowerGen and I am calling on the national selectors to pay closer attention to them. We have won the national league for the past two years and it is these guys who have been dominating domestic cricket." Ramjitsingh added that the players at PowerGen approach the game in a professional manner and they have far to go.
"Our players are brought up to do the right things in order to prosper and they have brought glory to PowerGen. "I am making a call to the national selectors to take an interest in Nicholas Sookdeosingh, Gibran Mohammed, Evin Lewis and Varoun Samaroo. "Also, we have the tried and trusted trio, Dave Mohammed, Samuel Badree and Sherwin Ganga, also at our club. "Our young players have dominated the scene in domestic cricket and I see no reason why Sookdeosingh for example can't get into the national team. "We have an excellent development programme at this club and we will continue to produce good quality cricketers for the national team, but our players must be given a chance to prove themselves."
