T&T Under-13 cricketers went under to Barbados Under-13 by 40 runs in their second limited overs clash in the Inshan Ali cricket series at the National Cricket Centre (NCC) yesterday. After the opening game on Saturday was rained off, the teams were greeted with fine weather yesterday. Batting first after winning the toss, Barbados made 135 all out in 37.5 overs.
Leading the way was Akeil Greenidge with an unbeaten 75. Also among the runs were Leniko Boucher (20) and Camara Boyce (21). Greenidge, the son of Alvin Greenidge and Boyce added an invaluable 37 runs for the last wicket. Greenidge faced only 90 balls and struck five fours and two sixes. The best of the TT bowlers were Amrish Rampersad 4/31 and Carl Vialva 4/15.
In reply the home team musted only 95 all out and they lost wickets at regular intervals. Jyd Goolie top scored with 23, while Vialva made 16. Dominic Drakes the son of Vasbert Drakes grabbed 3/17 and Sachin Clarke 2/13. The series continues tomorrow with the third limited overs match between the two team at the Honeymoon Recreation Ground in Tunapuna.
