North Eastern Divisional Task Force officers are searching for a suspect, after the seizure of two guns in Morvant yesterday. Officers led by Snr Supt Theophilus Cummings, acting ASP John Daniel, Sgt Roger Alexander, Cpl Darryl La Pierre and PCs Renaldo Ceilto and Sunil Barath received information and raided a house on Hirondelle Street, Morvant.
The police found a fully-loaded 12 gauge shotgun and a 303 bolt action rifle. The shotgun, which had ten live rounds of 12-gauge cartridges, was found hidden in the ceiling of the house.
The 303 rifle was found under a mattress which was on the floor of the home. Officers said the house, which belonged to an elderly man who died a couple of years ago, was being used by gun-runners and criminals in the Morvant district.
