National goalkeeper, Marvin Phillip is expected to complete a move to Digicel Pro League club, bmobile Joe Public on a year long loan deal from Caribbean Football Union Club champion, W Connection next week. This was confirmed both by Joe Public's coach, Derek King when contacted by telephone yesterday and W Connection owner, David John-Williams. The signing of 24-year-old Phillip, who is expected to be the first choice goalkeeper, comes following the departure of Colombian custodian Alejandro Fiogueroa to third year professional club, Ma Pau last month.

The "Eastern Lions" who already have Under-23 goalkeeper Andre Marchan on their roster is also set to be close to signing fellow Under-23 goalkeeper Glenroy Samuel, who's club United Petrotrin opted out of the 2010 season on Friday because of financial problems. With the departure of Phillip, W Connection will rely on fellow national goalkeeper, Jan-Michael Williams and Colombia Miguel Lloyd.

Phillip is the fifth signing of the off-season for the "Eastern Lions" who have also secured the services of another ex-W Connection player, striker Andre Toussaint, Nigel Daniel (United Petrotrin) and the ex-Caledonia AIA of Morvant/Laventille pair, Charles Pollard of Guyana and Marcus "Schoolboy" Ambrose. Also back at the club after a brief stint with the professional team is national Under-20 striker Marcus Joseph, who had returned to school to compete for Vessigny in the Secondary Schools Football League last October. King noted that the club was still in the process of finalising the addition of a few players possibly from the USA, Singapore and a few young promising local talent.
