De­fence Force FC has it's radar set on the 2010 sea­son and the Tetron based boys are hop­ing to build on last sea­son's suc­cess of their First Cit­i­zens Cup with three ti­tles this year. "Our main fo­cus this year is to win the League, so we can re­turn to rep­re­sent­ing Trinidad and To­ba­go on the Con­ca­caf lev­el.

In ad­di­tion we are hop­ing to re­tain the First Cit­i­zens Cup, as well as claim the FA Tro­phy. These three tro­phies are vi­tal to our club and prov­ing our worth, and if any­thing else comes our way, we will be thank­ful for it just like Joe Pub­lic did last sea­son," said for­mer goal­keep­er and now head coach Ross Rus­sell.

De­fence Force de­feat­ed Bmo­bile Joe Pub­lic 1-0 in the Fi­nal of the First Cit­i­zens Cup thanks to a late Richard Roy item, but had a dis­ap­point­ing League run fin­ish­ing sixth. De­fence Force will be­gin it's 2010 pre-sea­son fol­low­ing the Car­ni­val sea­son and de­spite the ear­ly start by some oth­er clubs, Rus­sell is con­fi­dent his play­ers will be more than phys­i­cal­ly ready.

Rus­sell is al­so look­ing to add new names to his squad for the up­com­ing sea­son. He said: "We are look­ing to build from our youth pro­grams–the re­serve and ju­nior league. We have about sev­en play­ers in re­cruit­ment at the mo­ment and hope­ful­ly their train­ing will fin­ish by the end of this month so that they can join our team train­ing."
