Soca Warriors and Caledonia AIA winger, Keon Daniel, has completed his move to newly crowned Caribbean Football Union Club champions, US Soccer League's Puerto Rico Islanders. This after his work permit was granted last week. A native of Lambeau, Tobago and a graduate of the St Clair Coaching School, Daniel will join fellow T&T players Nigel Henry, Osei Telesford, Kendall Jagdeosingh and Kevon Villaroel at the club for the 2010 season which began last month.
He has so far played 38 times for T&T with his last outing coming in a 20 loss away to Chile last Wednesday. Looking ahead to joining up with his new team-mates and club, the left footed Daniel said," I am grateful for the opportunity that I had with Caledonia, I cannot begin to tell you how much I have learnt from coach Jamaal Shabaaz and his staff during my time at the club."
"All I can really say, is that I am thankful for my time there because it provided the foundation for me to embrace this new opportunity, and I would like to wish them (Caledonia AIA) all the best for the current Digicel Pro league season. "I am looking forward to working with the coaches at Islanders and helping the team improve. "I am excited for the opportunity to help my new club compete for Concacaf Champions League championship, as having a chance to play at that level was a major influence in my decision to join the club.
