Soca Warriors teenage striker, Shahdon Winchester, of W Connection, is expected to leave for a two-week trial as Scottish Premier Division giants, Celtic today. The ex-Naparima College striker was scouted during the early parts of the current Digicel Pro League season and the legendary "Old Firm" powerhouse has moved forward their interest by extending an invitation to him to join them for a two-week trial.
Having been at W Connection's youth academy since age eight, Winchester made his first senior appearance for the club at the age of 16. He has also represented his club in the prestigious Concacaf Champions League in 2009 and has been a member of the national set-up from the Under-14, Under-15 and Under-17 levels. His talent has not escaped the eyes of Soca Warriors coach Russell Latapy, as he is a currently a member of the senior team preparing for the upcoming Digicel Caribbean Cup.
