First day winners in Group B, Germany and Korea Republic will fancy their chances of clinching early quarterfinals spots when the second round kicks off at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet, Tobago, today, from 4 pm. In the first match, Asian champion, South Korea will meet Mexico and three hours later, Germany plays South Africa. The South Koreans, 3-1 winner sover South Africa on Sunday, will be confident of a second straight win when they tackle the Mexicans, who were hammered 9-0 by a rampant Germany in their opener.
South Africa has captured the heart of the Tobagonian fans with their stylish, speedy and spirited play. Unfortunately for coach Solomon Luvhengo's girls, they will meet the German juggernaut next, which is led by the three-pronged attack of Lena Petermann, Kyra Malinowski and Len Lotzen, who combined for eight goals in their team's record-breaking 9-0 win, the biggest in the tournament's history.
