A lone goal by Anthony Wolfe was good enough to lead DirecTV North East Stars to a 1-0 quarterfinal win over fellow Digicel Pro League club, Ma Pau in their T&T Football Federation FA Trophy clash, yesterday.
Wolfe, a member of the Soca Warriors squad that recently returned from a disappointing campaign in the Digicel Caribbean Cup Finals in Martinique netted in the 25th minute which in the end proved decisive for Stars, the 2003 FA winner in the first match of double-header at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva.
At the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya, Caledonia AIA, FA winner in 2008 edged Joe Public Super League line-up 5-4 on sudden-death penalty-kicks after a 2-2 deadlock and 4-4 scoreline after the first five penalties. In the second match at Couva, La Brea All Stars, the Southern Football Association FA winners came up against Pro League outfit and 1998 and 2005 FA winner, San Juan Jabloteh. The second match at Macoya, featured, six-time winner Defence Force and St Ann's Rangers.
