Jerome Charles scored a dou­ble as Queen's Park kept its hopes of avoid­ing rel­e­ga­tion alive with a 5-1 whip­ping of Val­trin FC. This was in their penul­ti­mate bmo­bile Na­tion­al Su­per League clash at the Hase­ly Craw­ford Sta­di­um, Mu­cu­rapo, yes­ter­day. Charles scored in the 14th and 41st minute while Ak­il Glas­gow (33rd), Ja­son Charles (66th) and Joel Gib­bon (90th) added one each to can­cel out Ri­card Al­leyne's 20th minute item for Val­trin. With the win, the Parkites jumped to 17 points, one ahead of Val­trin which will be rel­e­gat­ed back to the East­ern Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion af­ter on­ly one sea­son in the com­pe­ti­tion.

The Parkites, must now win their fi­nal match against 1976 An­gos­tu­ra Phoenix to­mor­row at the same venue to avoid join­ing Val­trin as two of the three teams to be rel­e­gat­ed. St Fran­cois Na­tion­al, cur­rent­ly oc­cu­py the oth­er rel­e­ga­tion spot with 19 points from 17 match­es, one be­hind M&M Har­vard while Club San­do is a fur­ther point ahead with a match left for both clubs. At the end of round 20, the bot­tom three clubs will be rel­e­gat­ed back to their as­so­ci­a­tion league while the top two teams in the T&T Foot­ball Fed­er­a­tion Cham­pi­on of Cham­pi­ons com­pe­ti­tion will be pro­mot­ed.
