Jerome Charles scored a double as Queen's Park kept its hopes of avoiding relegation alive with a 5-1 whipping of Valtrin FC. This was in their penultimate bmobile National Super League clash at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, yesterday. Charles scored in the 14th and 41st minute while Akil Glasgow (33rd), Jason Charles (66th) and Joel Gibbon (90th) added one each to cancel out Ricard Alleyne's 20th minute item for Valtrin. With the win, the Parkites jumped to 17 points, one ahead of Valtrin which will be relegated back to the Eastern Football Association after only one season in the competition.
The Parkites, must now win their final match against 1976 Angostura Phoenix tomorrow at the same venue to avoid joining Valtrin as two of the three teams to be relegated. St Francois National, currently occupy the other relegation spot with 19 points from 17 matches, one behind M&M Harvard while Club Sando is a further point ahead with a match left for both clubs. At the end of round 20, the bottom three clubs will be relegated back to their association league while the top two teams in the T&T Football Federation Champion of Champions competition will be promoted.
