Chloe Fraser of Queen’s Park Cricket Club was the lone player to top two different age-groups when the T&T Table Tennis Association held its first trials competition for selection to the national junior and senior teams at the National Racket Centre, Orange Grove Road, Tacarigua on the weekend.
Having topped the Girls Under-11 Division trials at the same venue on Saturday, Fraser returned 24 hours later to take the top spot in the Under-13 age-group ahead of Bago Slammers’ Brianna Solomon, Ashlea Mohammed of Arima Table Tennis Club, and WASA’s Shreya Maraj in that order respectively.
Among the boys’ Under-13 competitors, Sachin Ramsumair of Petrotrin emerged as the winner followed by Samuel Humphreys of Arima Table Tennis Club, Malick Gopaul of Petrotrin, and Blasters’ Gabriel John. ,
In the Under-18 Girls’, Shreya Maharaj of Carenage Blasters, made up for her third-place finish in the women’s event on Saturday when she defeated Bago Slammers’ Ackyla Lucas, and Warrenville United duo, Rayanna Boodhan and Derah Ramoutar.
Derron Douglas who just avoided the cellar-spot in the men’s Open six-players trials topped the Under-18 Boys’ with Abraham Francis, N’Kosi Rouse, Jessie Dookie and Javier King completing the top five in that order.
