Shack­iel Hen­ry and Der­rel Gar­cia each scored a brace in Pa­lo Seco Trip­py Foot­ball Club’s (FC) com­mand­ing 4-0 win over Ce­dros Pi­rates in the third De­porti­vo Point Fortin (PF) Com­mu­ni­ty Foot­ball League on Fri­day night.

This was in the sec­ond match of a dou­ble-head­er at the Ma­haica Sport­ing Com­plex in the Philbert Jones Group (B). Ear­li­er, Ma­haica FC sealed a sec­ond huge win in as many match­es in the Leroy De Leon Group (A), 5-1 against Fan­ny Vil­lage Unit­ed.

For Pa­lo Seco, Hen­ry sent the ball in­to the net on ei­ther side of the half, mark­ing his sec­ond and third goals of the sea­son. He scored in Pa­lo Seco’s open­ing 5-1 win against Cochrane Chal­lengers.

Hen­ry’s open­ing goal came in the 31st minute to give Trip­py FC a 1-0 lead at the half. Two min­utes in­to the re­sump­tion, he net­ted his sec­ond.

Gar­cia joined him on the score­sheet, pro­duc­ing his open­ing item and his team’s third in the 58th be­fore seal­ing the win in the 88th to send Trip­py FC to the top of Group B with six points.

In the first match of the night, Ma­haica FC, who sits at the head of Group A al­so with six points, se­cured its sec­ond win. The host team had five dif­fer­ent play­ers on tar­get in the lop­sided af­fair.

Ezekiel Ke­sar opened the scor­ing as ear­ly as the sev­enth minute but Fan­ny Vil­lage got the equalis­er some 21 min­utes lat­er off Aaron Alexan­der (28th).

Je­re­mi­ah Niles re­turned the lead to Ma­haica mo­ments lat­er to put his team ahead 2-1 in the 32nd and just be­fore the close of the half, Josi­ah Ochoa put in an­oth­er in the 44th to give Ma­haica a 3-1 lead.

On the re­sump­tion, Fan­ny Vil­lage did well to re­strict its op­po­nent as it fought hard to make a come­back but could not find the back of the net.

It last­ed un­til the 73rd minute when Ma­haica got its fourth item from Keron Gaskin and then, Jah­mali Cob­ham put the ic­ing on the cake in the 89th as Fan­ny Vil­lage slumped to an­oth­er four-goal de­feat af­ter los­ing to de­fend­ing cham­pi­on Guapo Up­ris­ing Youths, 4-0, in their open­er in week one.

In Sat­ur­day’s match­es at La Brea recre­ation­al ground, La Brea All­stars got its first win of the sea­son beat­ing Egypt Unit­ed, 3-0. This af­ter draw­ing with Point Ligoure Unit­ed, 2-2, in week two ac­tion. In the open­ing match on Sat­ur­day, Vance Riv­er Ball­stars was again held, this time by (Pace) Lake­view Unit­ed, 2-2. Last week, Lake­view’s match against New Vil­lage end­ed tied, 1-1.

Ac­tion in the CFL re­sumes to­mor­row and shifts to Fuller­ton Grounds, Ce­dros this week­end. Two-time cham­pi­on Guapo Up­ris­ing will face New Vil­lage, aim­ing for its sec­ond win in a row in Group A. The open­ing match will be in Group B be­tween Cochrane Chal­lengers and Point Ligoure Unit­ed at 6 pm.
