Train­er Michael Lutch­man was the toast of San­ta Rosa Park, Ari­ma on Sat­ur­day win­ning the fea­ture race with the four-year-old fil­ly Pat­ta Pat­ta and land­ing three more win­ners on the day.

Day 17 of the Ari­ma Race Club's (ARC) rac­ing sea­son will res­onate in the mind of Lutch­man as he showed all and sundry that he con­tin­ues to work to be the best in his pro­fes­sion.

Lutch­man be­gan the day on the right foot land­ing the open­er with Kobe and Ricky Jadoo. He came back three races lat­er to land Davin­ci Code, who re­turned to the win­ner's en­clo­sure un­der a mag­nif­i­cent ride by No­bel Abrego.

The fol­low­ing race saw the same re­sult but on this oc­ca­sion, it was Blue Agave who gave Abrego a dou­ble. Could Lutchamn land a hat­trick of win­ners, in the next? The well-backed 4-1 shot Pat­ta Pat­ta won the fea­ture event for Lutch­man giv­ing him his fourth suc­cess on the sev­en-race card.

What a day for Lutch­man!

The last time Lutch­man had a good day, he won two races with Jadoo. On Sat­ur­day, Jadoo teamed up once again to win the open­er.

Lutch­man con­tin­ued to show his skill when he land­ed four-year-old Pat­ta Pat­ta to win the sixth event in ARC's sev­en-race pro­gramme.

Guardian Me­dia Sports spoke to Lutch­man yes­ter­day and he said, "Hard work re­al­ly pays off! I am very hap­py for the jock­eys, grooms and own­ers in my sta­ble. We have a great re­la­tion­ship. It was in­deed a great day for me to win four races out of sev­en and that in­clud­ed the fea­ture event with Pat­ta Pat­ta. I must say to have the two old­est and best jock­eys rid­ing in my sta­ble is su­perb and both won for me yes­ter­day.

"It was great to see Jadoo and Kobe pow­er­ing home in the open­er be­fore Abrego land­ed a great one on Davin­ci Code. Blue Agave gave me so much love when he took the fifth race, you will not be­lieve. But Pat­ta Pat­ta gave me such joy to see her win the fea­ture. She is on the up­grade and will run a big race in the Stew­ards Cup once she comes out of this race well. She quick­ened well and stayed on re­al­ly strong­ly for her win, with Mak­ing Head­lines com­ing at her in sec­ond. I am re­al­ly proud of the job of my team. I take this op­por­tu­ni­ty to thank them."

He has a niche for catch­ing the late de­vel­op­ers as he has shown with Davin­ci Code, At­ta Girl Sil­vy and Pawan Pu­tra.

Lutch­man, who was a very good rid­er in his days, re­ceived his li­cense to train in 2019 and has now land­ed 26 win­ners. Lutch­man, who is very pro­fes­sion­al in his un­der­tak­ings, told Guardian Me­dia that his suc­cess was team-ori­ent­ed.

"I have a good work­ing team and they are re­spon­si­ble for my suc­cess. My cir­cle work for the best of the sta­ble and as such we get the best from the hors­es," said Lutch­man, who land­ed his first win­ner with Nabawi in 2019 is look­ing for­ward to fur­ther suc­cess in his ca­reer.
