Four rounds is all Commonwealth silver medallist Kertson Manswell says he needs to defeat Jimmy Joseph (Farmer) in their fight at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Bacolet, Tobago on July 24. Manswell, who turned professional in 2004 made the comments at a press briefing held at the Police Canteen on Long Circular Road, St James, yesterday.
"All I need is just four rounds in the ring that's it. After four rounds I am promising everyone that he will hit the canvas," said Manswell, who also has silver medals at the Pan American Games and the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games. In response, Joseph was equally confident when he said that he's ahead of Manswell when it comes to experience.
He said, "You don't get to where I am by talking. Once you have ability and you have faced people that I have you know that's impossible. I would never go down in four round facing you. You better be careful that you don't go down in third rounds."
Other fights which are apart of the card would see T&T's Nigel Edwards take on Ricardo Kellman of Barbados in the Cruiserweight (178lbs) event. While Melroy Corbin of Guyana will come up against Curtis Murray of Barbados in Heavyweight (178lbs) fight. With T&T Miki Richard expected to do battle against Choyto Field of Barbados in the Super Heavyweight (210lbs) Division.
