Denoon brothers, Dunston and David, of Tobago, were among the four qualifiers for the Tennis Association of T&T (TATT) Open Singles Tournament when the two-day qualifying tournament ended on Saturday on the Eddie Taylor Public Courts, King George V Park, St Clair on Saturday. After coming through Friday's first day of qualifying, Dunston Denoon then had wins over Atiba Phillip (4-1, 4-1) national Under-14 title-holder, Jualon Greig 4-1, 4-0 to secure a passage to the main draw, which serves off on Friday.
Dunston's elder brother, David was equally as impressive as he whipped Brandon Lewis 4-0, 4-1 and then dismissed Chad Piralli 5-3, 4-1 in his two matches on Saturday. Joining the Denoon's in the 16-player main draw were St Lucian, Mc Collin Fontenelle and Jovani Lewis. Among the women, former national champion, Renee Branker is the top seed with 17-year-old Lee-Anne Lingo seeded No Two. Trevine Sellier and Nalini Maharaj round out the top four players.
