Ladies' third seed Trevine Sel­l­i­er com­fort­ably moved in­to the quar­ter­fi­nals of the Ten­nis As­so­ci­a­tion of T&T Open, when she de­feat­ed African Rachael Nwoko­lo 6�0, 6�0 at St George V Park in St Clair last night. Sel­l­i­er's next match will be against El­yse Mag­giori, who yes­ter­day walked over Bre­ana Stampfli. That clash takes place at 9 am this morn­ing. "I feel con­fi­dent but every­one is go­ing to be com­ing out strong so we'll see what hap­pens," she said af­ter her match yes­ter­day. Top seed Re­nee Branker will play her first match to­day against Danielle Soo Ping, who earned her spot in the quar­ter­fi­nals by beat­ing Danielle Chin 6�2, 6�3.

Men's top seed Richard Chung, who was sched­uled to play his first match against Javier Lewis last night, said that he had lit­tle prepa­ra­tion go­ing in­to the tour­na­ment. "My ex­pec­ta­tions are not very high," he ad­mit­ted. "My coach en­tered me in this tour­na­ment and I start­ed train­ing for it on Mon­day. I'm do­ing my de­gree pro­gramme so it's kind of hec­tic to bal­ance ten­nis and school work at the same time. "I think my draw is a bit un­for­tu­nate. I have to play Yohansey (Williams) in the sec­ond round. He might be an un­der­dog in the tour­na­ment but not re­al­ly for me. He's beat­en me the last three times I've played him."
