Port-of-Spain and Environs education district celebrated their success in the Atlantic National Primary Schools District Football Tournament on Friday at the district office on Jerningham Avenue last Friday. Port-of-Spain reigned supreme in the Atlantic National Primary Schools District Football Tournament, copping the boys' and girls' titles at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella last week. The girls' team overcame a commendable performance from Tobago, to win 2-1 on penalty kicks in the opener. However, the Port-of-Spain boys coasted home in the boys' division final as they stopped Caroni 3-1. Supervisor III, Cheryl Ann Wilkinson and School Supervisor II, Osborne Plaza Wilcox was on hand to congratulate the footballers and share the spirit of Christmas.
Wilkinson said she was very happy for the success of the district and she commended the students for a job well done. She further extended her congratulation and support for the Port-of-Spain and Environs Sports Council which she said performed with distinction for yet another year. Chairman of the Sports Council, Kelvin Nancoo, said: "This is a great victory, it proves that when you prepare well you will get the desired result. "The teams worked hard and they deserve their success. Congrats to our players, technical staff, supervisors and teachers."
