Port-of-Spain and En­vi­rons ed­u­ca­tion dis­trict cel­e­brat­ed their suc­cess in the At­lantic Na­tion­al Pri­ma­ry Schools Dis­trict Foot­ball Tour­na­ment on Fri­day at the dis­trict of­fice on Jern­ing­ham Av­enue last Fri­day. Port-of-Spain reigned supreme in the At­lantic Na­tion­al Pri­ma­ry Schools Dis­trict Foot­ball Tour­na­ment, cop­ping the boys' and girls' ti­tles at the Man­ny Ramjohn Sta­di­um in Mara­bel­la last week. The girls' team over­came a com­mend­able per­for­mance from To­ba­go, to win 2-1 on penal­ty kicks in the open­er. How­ev­er, the Port-of-Spain boys coast­ed home in the boys' di­vi­sion fi­nal as they stopped Ca­roni 3-1. Su­per­vi­sor III, Cheryl Ann Wilkin­son and School Su­per­vi­sor II, Os­borne Plaza Wilcox was on hand to con­grat­u­late the foot­ballers and share the spir­it of Christ­mas.

Wilkin­son said she was very hap­py for the suc­cess of the dis­trict and she com­mend­ed the stu­dents for a job well done. She fur­ther ex­tend­ed her con­grat­u­la­tion and sup­port for the Port-of-Spain and En­vi­rons Sports Coun­cil which she said per­formed with dis­tinc­tion for yet an­oth­er year. Chair­man of the Sports Coun­cil, Kelvin Nan­coo, said: "This is a great vic­to­ry, it proves that when you pre­pare well you will get the de­sired re­sult. "The teams worked hard and they de­serve their suc­cess. Con­grats to our play­ers, tech­ni­cal staff, su­per­vi­sors and teach­ers."
