Sandhya Moll emerged as the shining star at the T&T Equestrian Association's (TTEA) fourth and final leg of the Super League Competition held last week Saturday at Hidden Valley Stables, Upper Santa Cruz. In winning the Super League Class, Moll captured three of the four legs of the 1:10M on Majestic Seven to edge out 14-year-old Mariel Lancer, who was aboard Uniface. The success came on the heels of winning the T&T-leg of the FEI World Jumping Challenge and being crowned champion Under-16 rider in the Caribbean Equestrian Association's Junior Jumping Competitions in Barbados, Cayman Islands and Jamaica. After her victory, President of TTEA, Carl Chatoor, presented Moll with the President's Gift Certificate for Excellence in the equestrian sport. Competition was fierce in Round One of the 1:10M Super League Class with 15-year-old Moll and Majestic Seven leading with four faults, followed by Mellisa Sheppard and Amigo Mio with five faults. Behind the trio was Lancer and Uniface with eight faults.
In Round Two, Lancer and Uniface had a fabulous clear round in the time of 82.70 seconds, followed by Sheppard and Amigo Mio with 10 faults. Last to go was Moll and Majestic Seven. One jump was knocked down for four faults and the time of 82.20 seconds gave her the same number of combined faults as Lancer but her marginally better time ( half a second faster) made her the winner. Steven Degheldere on Steffi was the winner in the .95 High Class Class with a total of 50 faults on his inexperienced horse. All the other competitiors were eliminated. In the Junior Low League Class, the winner was 12-year-old Amber Thompson on Rockstar with a total of three faults over the two rounds. Second was Adelle Stollmeyer on Amigo Mio with 11 faults, followed by Jade Gomez on Rhapsody with 19 faults. Mellisa Inglefield on Nobil LX with nine faults copped the Senior Low League Class from Cashell Watson on Morocco with 23 faults.
TTEA's Year End Super League Trophies were handed out after the competition with Moll being awarded the prize for champion rider in the Super League Class with a total of 280 points - 90 points more than reserve champion, Lancer.Sheppard was third with 130 points and Steven Degheldere was fourth with 80 points. Eight riders competed through the year in this highest level of the Super League Competition. The Champion Rider Trophy in the High League was shared by Alex Bovell and Chelsea Thomas. Both accumulated 120 points. Anna Lisa de Lima was third and Olivia Harford was fourth. Eight riders competed in this mid-level division. Adelle Stollmeyer won champion rider in the Junior Division of the Low League for the second year running. Amber Thompson was the reserve champion with Laura Morrison third followed by Jade Gomez in fourth place. Seven riders competed at this level throughout the year. Mellisa Inglefield topped the Senior Division of the Low League with reserve champion going to Cashell Watson. Michael James was third with Franka Costelloe fourth. Six riders competed at this level.
