T&T’s un­der-11 boys’ na­tion­al age-group cham­pi­on Za­y­den Sagram­s­ingh added to the Team sil­ver medal won when he earned a bronze medal in the Un­der-11 Sin­gles in the Caribbean Re­gion­al Ta­ble Ten­nis Fed­er­a­tion (CRT­TF) Mi­ni and Pre-Cadet Cham­pi­onship in San­to Domin­go, Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic on Sat­ur­day.

Sagram­s­ingh who com­bined with Tris­tan Soomarie for Un­der-11 Boys Team sil­ver ear­li­er in the week re­ceived a round-of-16 bye be­fore he de­feat­ed Puer­to Ri­co's Car­los Me­dia 3-1 in sets to set up a semi­fi­nal clash with an­oth­er Puer­to Ri­can, Ian Gar­cia which the lat­ter won 0-3.

Soomarie, mean­while won his round-of-16 clash with Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic's Ale­jan­dro Lopez be­fore bow­ing out to Ja­maican Mal­one Bird in the quar­ter­fi­nals to miss out on a medal.

On Thurs­day last Sagram­s­ingh topped his Un­der-11 Boys Group One round-robin se­ries by beat­ing Ja­maican Yashme An­der­son 11-1, 12-14, 11-4, 11-7 and Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic's Nicholas Beato 11-1, 11-2, 11-0 while Soomarie was sec­ond in Group Four af­ter he went un­der to Guyana's Aaron Hop­kin­son 8-11, 11-9, 1-11, 5-11 but beat Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic's An­tho­ny Reyes 10-12, 11-9, 8-11, 11-8, 11-7.

How­ev­er, Tris­tan Sam­path did not ad­vance from his Group Three se­ries af­ter loss­es against Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic's Raudy Var­gas 8-11, 7-11, 4-11 and Puer­to Ri­co's Ken­nuel Ar­royo 11-9, 8-11, 9-11, 11-7, 4-11.

In the Un­der-13 Sin­gles, the T&T's Eliz­a­beth Ra­jah was stopped in the Girls round-of-16 while Aaron Noel was al­so de­feat­ed in the last-16, and Daniel Bhim in the quar­ter­fi­nals of the Boys'.

Ra­jah was sec­ond in her Un­der-13 Girls Group Four qual­i­fiers af­ter los­ing against Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic's Lesly Perez 1-11, 6-11, 9-11 but re­bound­ing to out­last an­oth­er host play­er, Eliana Mar­tinez 7-11, 9-11, 11-7, 15-13, 13-11 be­fore she was oust­ed by Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic's Dixsany Sil­ve­rio.

In the Un­der-13 Boys Noel was de­feat­ed by Puer­to Ri­co's Jose Rivera 9-11, 5-11, 10-12 but se­cured wins over Aruban T-sion Geer­man 11-3, 9-11, 11-4, 11-2 and Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic's Yas­minky Sosa 11-6, 11-6, 11-7 for the sec­ond spot in Group Three af­ter which he was stopped by Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic's Ei­dhri­an Pauli­no while Bhim was over­whelmed by Puer­to Ri­can Owen Shemesh 10-12, 8-11, 11-1 but over­came Ja­maican Kyle John­son 11-7, 11-4, 11-5 and Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic An­gel Dominguez 11-5, 11-8, 11-4 in Group Five fol­lowed a win against An­gel Me­len­dez in the last-16, be­fore he fell in the quar­ters to Cuban Yadiel Her­nan­dez..

T&T's Ma­teo Mollineau fell to Cuban Andy Maque­ira 5-11, 7-11, 2-11 and Pauli­no 4-11, 5-11, 2-11 but won against Ja­maican An­drew An­der­son 11-3, 16-18, 11-5, 11-8 in Group Two while Jared Si­mon came up short against Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic Jo­han Mon­tas 4-11, 5-11, 1-11; Ja­maican Ajani Spencer 4-11, 5-11, 2-11 and Cuban Her­nan­dez 6-11, 2-11, 2-11 in Group Six.

Al­so yes­ter­day, In the Un­der-13 Boys Dou­bles, Bhim and Mollineau won their round-of-16 open­er ver­sus Ja­maicans An­drew An­der­son and Kyle John­son 11-7, 11-4, 11-5 but were then de­feat­ed in the quar­ter­fi­nals by host duo Yas­minky Sosa and Jo­han Mon­tas 3-11, 5-11, 9-11 while Noel and Si­mon was stopped in their first match, 2-11, 10-12, 9-11 by Puer­to Ri­cans Owen Shemesh and Jose Rivera.

And in the Un­der-11 Boys Dou­bles, the lo­cal com­bi­na­tion of Sagram­s­ingh and Soomarie were hand­ed a round-of-16 bye on­ly to bow out in the quar­ter­fi­nals to Puer­to Ri­cans Ryan Rivera and Car­los Med­i­na 11-8, 9-11, 7-11, 11-1 while Sam­path and Bar­ba­di­an Ca­malli Ifill were oust­ed by Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic's Liam Perez and Elian Al­varez 7-11, 3-11, 10-12 in their open­ing round clash.
