Hal Mohammed of team Executive Bodyguard Services Limited hit a hole-in-one during the Scotiabank Charity Golf Tournament which took place on Friday at the St Andrew's Golf Club in Moka, Maraval. His triumph came on the 15th hole. However, it was the two-man team of Judy Ann Stewart and Anthony Smart from team Valdez and Torry International that emerged as the day's champions.
The one-day tournament under the Scotiabank banner was expanded to provide greater support for women’s causes with its 20th edition which raised $100,000 in proceeds all of which will go to the Caribbean Asociation of Oncology and Haematology (CAOH), for a community outreach programme. The tournament attracted 42 corporate-sponsored teams.
Speaking at the prize-giving ceremony, Stephen Bagnarol– Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Scotiabank highlighted the reach of the tournament over its 20-year existence, noting that 0ver 600 corporate entities have supported the event over the years with more than 1,600 participants. The proceeds raised have impacted the lives of over 19,000 women.
He said, “Scotiabank and the Scotiabank Foundation are committed to helping people and communities become better off. Furthermore, we readily support women and women’s causes."
There were four (4) teams that scored the highest points on the day - 44, so there was a count back based on the stroke hole index 1 to 18 for each team, with the following emerging as the top teams:
