The sponsors behind An Evening with Sadhguru featuring Machel Montano were afforded the opportunity to meet the yogi at UPICK in Chaguaramas on August 4.
The mystic was accompanied by King of Soca Machel Montano and his wife Renee, as they sat down with the small bunch for brunch, which featured food items and fruits grown in Chaguaramas itself.
Montano reminisced on the previous night of the actual event he said he received numerous calls from various age groups with everyone saying the same thing – they woke up with a smile on their face.
He said he was humbled and honoured to be part of the Save Soil Movement.
“I met Sadghuru in 2018 and he has had such a profound effect upon my life, I learnt about yoga but, most importantly, I learnt about life and the understanding of life,” Montano said.

“I wanted to dedicate myself and my time to something that I felt was in service to humanity and I saw this as a wonderful opportunity to learn about the very life that is here. And it took us to the understanding that it begins on what we stand on.”
Montano said he was grateful to the corporate companies and citizens in T&T who were getting involved.
“We are seeing a lot of movement, there are a lot of groups doing things,” he explained.
“People wanting to plant trees, people wanting to get involved and spread the message. But most importantly when we have these phones in our hand according to Sadhguru we have the ability to speak to the whole world and to reverberate this message and right now we need most importantly policy, policy, policy, policy.

“Why Sadhguru says we need policy is because we might do something good now but what will the next generation do? So we want to enshrine this in our laws, we want to make sure we say to ourselves that this generation took the opportunity to turn it around and to make things better and to look forward to leaving something of a legacy for our kids and next generations to come.”
Guardian Media’s managing director Dr Karrian Hepburn-Malcolm joined Montano in thanking the business leaders for their support with the event.
“I had no choice but to partner with something like this,” she said.
“It was a no brainer. We were honoured to be part of the Save Soil Movement and I hope that Guardian Media can help to amplify the message with the use of our platforms.”
Following the formalities Sadhguru answered questions from the gathering.
Guests were gifted books from Sadhguru’s collection as well as a copy of A Century of Excellence, the 100th special anniversary publication done by the T&T Guardian five years ago.
