Introducing the world’s first app designed to improve early detection, with a twist of lemon. Learn how you can self-exam, six ways to identify the 12 symptoms of breast cancer, track your period, take a risk quiz and get a custom screening plan to make knowing when to get a mammogram crystal clear.
Dr Corrine Ellsworth-Beaumont MFA, PhD, is the founder of the Know Your Lemons Foundation and the designer behind Know Your Lemons, the innovative campaign teaching about the symptoms of breast cancer and the process for detection. Her groundbreaking work is creating a new paradigm of healthcare communication and has been viewed by one billion people worldwide. Because the familiar, friendly lemon crosses common healthcare communication barriers of literacy, taboo and fear, #knowyourlemons is the only truly global breast cancer education campaign.
Corrine’s passion for educating people everywhere is fuelled by her grandmothers and a close friend who died from breast cancer. Driven to take action against the disease, she learned just about everything there is to know about breast cancer detection and treatment, and studied the psychological effects of healthcare communication. After receiving her PhD in design, Corrine took the findings from her doctoral dissertation, Design thinking in healthcare: developing patient-centred communication materials for breast cancer detection, and created the Know Your Lemons® Foundation.
Dr Corrine Ellsworth-Beaumont shares, “My wish is to make it easy for everyone to change the picture of breast cancer with me, and save the lives of our grandmothers, mothers, sisters and friends along the way.”
