Labor Day celebrations in New York were largely scaled down this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The popular West Indian Day Carnival Parade, usually the climax of the activities, was among the events cancelled.
However, there was still plenty for Carnival lovers to enjoy including Kes Live in NYC which took place on September 6 at The Boardwalk on Coney Island.
Patrons turned out in their number to take on performances by the band and guest performances by top soca stars, including Nailah Blackman, Alison Hinds and Etienne Charles.
Here are some highlights.
