Local company Printree Powered by the DocuCentre has been awarded bmobile’s Business Technology Award for 2020.
The company will now benefit from a $10,000 bmobile business solutions package valued which will be customised to provide one year of technological and communication support.
TSTT explained the award recognises and celebrates companies which are leveraging technology to drive and further develop their business.
Ian Galt, General Manager Enterprise Services at TSTT who presented finalists at the Champions of Business Awards
hosted virtually by the T&T Chamber of Industry and Commerce said it was inspiring to see local businesses harness technology to innovate, advance their operations and ultimately propel the country forward.
“Not only do all three operate within the ecommerce space but they are disruptive, innovative and prioritise collaboration. They understand that while technology is critical to their success, people are the core. They all do impactful, path-breaking work that is worthy of recognition,”Galt said.
Nekesha Bartholomew-Ramey, Business Development Manager of Printree said the award represented the long hours put in by staff to make the business a success.
“It is not only about who wins but rather, it also tells us about the state of our industry overall and how our companies are moving to leverage technology to compete at global scale,” Bartholomew-Ramey added.
Printree powered by the DocuCentre is an online design-to-print service launched in 2018.
President of the Trinidad and T&T Chamber Reyaz Ahamad who also spoke at the awards noted the importance of collaboration in today’s business.
“Navigating the pandemic meant every business had to put aside yesterday’s underlying assumptions and convictions and actively rethink the way value can be, and should be,” Ahamad advised.
He noted one common thread emerging from the awardees was collaboration, adding that no entrepreneur could journey alone.
“The pandemic highlighted the importance of collaborating in solving rapidly changing, complex problems,” Ahamad emphasised.
He also noted that collaboration is a powerful tool which can help businesses as they navigate shared challenges and enable them to compete on the global stage.
The 2020 finalists were Excellent Stores, ShopHub.com and Printree Powered by DocuCentre - the latter being awarded the top prize.
