Energy Minister Stuart Young has met Woodside executives as talks centred around several topics including the opportunities for future collaboration between T&T and Woodside Energy Group Ltd under their three pillars of operation–oil, gas and new energy.
A statement from the Energy Ministry explained that Young and the Woodside team agreed to further meetings to explore the opportunities for collaboration.
The statement noted that Young met with Shiva McMahon, Head of International Operations, Juan Vazquez Country Manager, Woodside T&T and Dr Carla Noel-Mendez Manager, Corporate Affairs, Woodside T&T.
McMahon was appointed Head of International Operations after the completion of the merger of BHP and Woodside Energy Group Ltd on June 1, 2022.
She previously held the role of General Manager of Australia Production Unit at BHP Petroleum.
According to the statement, it was the first official meeting with the Woodside team, noting that McMahon thanked the minster for the support that T&T has provided to BHP.
She noted that the merger provides a great opportunity to bring the best of the both companies together to maximise benefits.
Young, who welcomed McMahon and Vazquez. acknowledged the continued presence of Woodside in this country and expressed his willingness on behalf of T&T to continue the already existing relationship with the company.
