Two elderly males and one middle-aged female are the latest victims of COVID-19, with their deaths bringing the national death toll to 3,874 lives lost, according to the most recent report from the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry notes that two of the deceased had multiple comorbidities, while one person had only one comorbidity. Among the comorbidities from which they suffered are diabetes, hypertension, liver disease, inflammatory disease and kidney disease.
In its update for today, Sunday 15 May 2022, the Ministry of Health reports that 397 people have tested positive for COVID-19, based on samples taken between May 12 and 14.
At this time, total active positive cases are 9,572. Some 204 persons currently are being treated in hospital for the disease.
As of today, some 155,040 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago since pandemic tracking began in March 2020.
Currently, some 711,963 people in the country are fully vaccinated, having completed either a one-dose or two-doses regimen of a COVID-19 vaccine.
And some 152,818 people have received their booster doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, as of today, Sunday, the Ministry’s update reports.
