The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has cancelled the Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert activated earlier today, as weather conditions have eased.
According to the latest advisory from the Met Service:
“There has been gradual improvement in weather conditions. Rainfall has ceased in most areas. Cloudiness may persist but the atmosphere is becoming increasingly stable and more settled.”
The TTMS also is forecasting fair weather with a light breeze tonight.
As such, the alert status is now at Green Level, which means the risk posed has dropped to a safe level, namely low risk to public safety, livelihoods and property, according to the Met Service’s CAP Colour-Coded Warning System.
However, citizens still need to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings. They also are advised to consider restocking emergency supplies to prepare for the next rough weather event, when the risk level is at Green.
