The All Trinidad General Workers’ Trade Union is confirming that it has managed to secure an 8% wage increase for weekly paid workers at Massy Motors Leasing, to cover the 2019 to 2022 period.
According to a release issued by the union’s General Secretary, Rajindra Mohan:
“The All Trinidad General Workers’ Trade Union has successfully negotiated and signed on May 26, 2022 a new three year Collective Agreement for the hourly rated weekly paid employees of Massy Motors Leasing—A Division of Massy Motors Ltd.—which has realized an eight percent wage increase on their behalf.”
The union reports that the Agreement covers the period September 16, 2019 to September 15, 2022. For the first year, workers will see a 3% increase; for the second, a 2% increase; and for the third, a 2% increase.
“The Union also augmented improvements in other Terms and Conditions of Employment such as Paternity Leave, Meal and other allowances and benefits,” General Secretary Mohan confirmed.
He added: “The Union wishes to extend its appreciation to officials of Massy Motors Leasing for the cordial and harmonious relations, which existed during the conduct of the said negotiations and of which both parties were extremely pleased with the outcome.”
The Union’s negotiating team was led by Kavita Ramlochan, Senior Labour Relations Officer; along with Hazel Ryan and Sunil Ramnarace, Officers of the Branch.
The Company’s team was led by Derek Fernandes, Senior Manager, Leasing; and Nirisa Allow, Human Resource Manager.
