Police are trying to determine if the body of a man found on a beach in La Brea this morning, is that of Shomari Fraser.
A report stated that around 5 am, a passer-by found the partially decomposed body lying face down on the shore near the La Brea Police Station. The body was bare-chested and was clothed in a pair of black three-quarter pants.
Investigators are waiting for confirmation of the deceased person’s identity but based on a description given by relatives, they suspect it could be Fraser, who drowned off Farallon Rock on Friday.
According to reports, Fraser, 22, of Embacadere, San Fernando, left shore with three friends to lime at the isle in the Gulf of Paria around 5:30 pm on Friday. Two of his friends jumped into the water and swam to shore. They told police Frasier attempted to follow them but began struggling to stay afloat.
Despite attempts to save Frasier, he disappeared underwater.
Investigations are ongoing.
